Job summary

Societe Generale SA’s Equity Prime desk in Singapore seeks a market-savvy professional to market and develop commodities agency business to Asia clients, focusing on Greater China. You will work closely with senior sales teams and manage onboarding, credit/risk monitoring, and execution support to ensure seamless client services.

The role requires metals derivatives knowledge, English fluency and Mandarin ability, and the ability to build lasting client relationships while adhering to regulatory

Qualifications

• 2–4 years of relevant commodities experience, with metals derivatives focus preferred.
• Undergraduate or graduate education related to finance or commodities.
• Experience and network with Greater China commodities clients is a plus.
• Fluency in English and ability to conduct business in Mandarin are required.

Responsibilities

• Market and develop Commodities Agency business to existing and prospective clients in Asia, focusing on onshore/offshore Greater China clients.

Within the Equity & Derivatives division, Societe Generale’s (SG) Equity Prime business unit is a leading Prime Broker for institutions, investors and corporate clients worldwide. PSC (Prime Services Clearing) division partners with various teams and stakeholders to deliver Execution, Clearing and Financing solutions on multi-asset classes in listed market to empower our clients to deliver their best trading potential. SG’s Equity Prime franchise is a market leader Listed Derivatives and is recognized within the industry for its unique expertise and innovative drive.

Under SG’s EQD/PSC, the corporate commodities team specializes in offering prime brokerage services to corporate clients in commodities market.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Marketing and developing Commodities Agency business to existing and prospective clients in Asia, with focus on onshore/offshore Greater China clients, providing assistance to senior sales.
• Good understanding of commodities client/market landscape in Greater China, with focus on metals experience
• Technical and operational knowledge of financial & commodities derivatives market.
• Mastery of the complete work flow process in clearing product/client parameters (on-boarding, credit/risk monitoring, execution, operations, etc).
• Knowledge in risk control functions, desk mandates, bank’s operations procedures
• Understanding of relevant compliance/legal/regulatory policies & procedures.
• Manage/troubleshoot products/transactions supports (Risk, Legal, Operation, Client Service, etc) with the relevant internal support functions.
• Perform risk controls, operational duties that are assigned to individual; complete all the mandatory trainings on-time.
• Comply with all the bank’s procedures, policies, rules; and all the relevant governments and industry regulations and laws.
• Responsible for contributing team’s NBI target

PROFILE REQUIRED

• Relevant 2~4yrs of working experience in commodities industry, with focus in the listed metals derivatives market experience preferred.
• Undergraduate or graduate education related to finance or commodities
• Experience and knowledge in metals industry & LME is plus
• Existing relationship and network with Greater China commodities clients is plus
• Fluency in English and the ability to conduct business communications in Mandarin are required, as the role involves frequent interaction with Mandarin-speaking clients and stakeholders.
