Job summary

Network For Electronic Transfers (S) seeks a seasoned cloud operations leader to head a team of cloud engineers in Singapore. You will drive AWS-centric strategies, incident response, DR planning and security governance across the organisation's payment infrastructure.

Responsibilities include developing cloud design patterns, leading postmortems, and coordinating with security and CoE teams to align operations with a strong cloud strategy and regulatory compliance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in IT, CS, Engineering or related field.
• 10+ years in IT operations with 5+ years in AWS or similar cloud ops.
• 3+ years in a leadership or CloudOps team lead role.
• Hands-on AWS experience; design and build of platform components.

Responsibilities

• Lead cloud engineers and guide issue resolutions.
• Partner with Cloud CoE, security and application teams to align operations with cloud strategy.
• Apply expert knowledge of cloud-native services across compute, storage, networking, databases, containers, serverless and security.
• Own and evolve operational frameworks: incident response, monitoring, patching, backup, DR and compliance.
• Lead major incident management and RCA for critical cloud events.
• Develop deployable cloud design patterns based on portfolio for cloud deployments.
• Back decisions with research and provide options with pros/cons and recommendation.
• Maintain industry knowledge on latest cloud trends and technology.
• Ensure compliance with MAS TRM and other enterprise security/regulatory frameworks.
• Lead cloud security operations with security teams; drive IaC and automation.
• Define optimal HA and DR design patterns; conduct technical deep dives and postmortems.
• Oversee patch management, vulnerability remediation, IAM governance and policy enforcement.

Company: Network For Electronic Transfers (S)

BCS is NETS’ wholly owned subsidiary, and is an entity within the NETS Group. It manages and operates clearing and payment infrastructure for the Singapore Automated Clearing House, including Fast And Secure Transfers (FAST), Inter-bank GIRO (IBG), Cheque Truncation System (CTS), and provides services for PayNow and SGQR Central Repository.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead of team of cloud engineers and provide guidance on issues resolutions
• Partner with Cloud CoE, security and application teams to align operations with cloud strategy
• Apply expert-level knowledge of cloud-native services (compute, storage, networking, databases, containers, serverless and security)
• Own and evolve operational frameworks including incident response, monitoring, patching, backup, disaster recovery and compliance
• Lead major incident management and root cause analysis (RCA) for critical cloud events
• Develop a library of deployable and documented cloud design patterns, based on the organisation application portfolio, as a basis for deploying services to the cloud
• Demonstrate leadership ability to back decisions with research and the "why" and articulate several options, the pros and cons for each, and a recommendation.
• Maintain overall industry knowledge on latest trends and technology.
• Ensure compliance with enterprise security and regulatory frameworks (MAS TRM)
• Lead cloud security operations in collaboration with security teams.
• Drive automation-first operations through Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, CloudFormation)
• Define optimal design patterns and solutions for high availability and disaster recovery for applications.
• Conduct technical deep dives, operational reviews and incident postmortems
• Oversee patch management, vulnerability remediation, IAM governance and policy enforcement

Requirements:

Education and Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Information technology, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field
• Minimum of 10 years of experience in IT operations, with at least 5+ years in AWS or similar cloud operations (Azure, GCP), preferably within the payment or financial services industry
• Minimum 3+ years in a leadership or team lead role managing L2/L3 or CloudOps teams
• Possess practical expertise in AWS service such as experience in designing and developing platform components or monitoring tools in AWS or any of the cloud computing platforms

Skills and Knowledge

• Strong knowledge on AWS architecture and design, professional level certification is mandatory
• Cloud Expert with proven contributions in Amazon AWS
• Proven experience leading incident management, DR, backup/recovery and performance operations at scale
• Ability to carry out industry trends and competitor product/solution analysis effectively
• Good expertise in programming- able to develop and demonstrate technologies in PoC
• Excellent knowledge of cloud computing technologies and current computing trends
• Experience in configuring and tuning cloud-hosted solutions and platforms
• Good knowledge of DevSecOps tool chains and processes
• Strong communication skills and able to articulate complicated cloud reports to management team and other stakeholders
• Hands-on proficiency in IaC and automation tools
