Job summary

Qualifications

• Recognised N/O Level/ITE Certificate or Diploma in Biomedical Sciences, Nursing, Health Sciences or a Certificate in phlebotomy.
• Experience with phlebotomy in a fast-paced environment (2–5 years).

Responsibilities

• Provide fast, skillful and accurate blood collection for patients using venipuncture, capillary and heel-prick.
• Perform phlebotomy, ECG, spirometry accurately and professionally.
• Ensure work area is clean and tidy and comply with infection control guidelines.
• Verify patient identity using two identifiers before collections and tests.
• Ensure proper documentation for traceability and good documentation practices.
• Comply with workplace safety, hand hygiene and relevant regulatory and accreditation requirements of the laboratory.
• Provide prompt and courteous service to external and internal clients over the counter or on the phone.
