Job summary

Nippon Builders Pte Ltd is seeking an experienced Heavy Vehicle Operator to safely operate Class 4 tipper trucks and lorry cranes on construction sites. You will handle loading, unloading, lifting, and ensure loads comply with safety and weight limits.

The role requires a valid Singapore Class 4 license and a Lorry Crane Operator Certificate, with a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience. You will work closely with site teams to ensure timely deliveries and maintain vehicle records.

Qualifications

• Valid Singapore Class 4 driving license.
• Lorry Crane Operator Certificate.
• Minimum 5 years of experience operating tipper trucks, lorry cranes or similar heavy vehicles.
• Solid understanding of heavy vehicle operation and basic maintenance.
• Knowledge of road traffic regulations and site safety practices.
• Responsible attitude with safety awareness and ability to work independently.
• Clean driving record with no major violations.

Responsibilities

• Safely operate Class 4 tipper trucks and lorry cranes to transport construction materials, bulk materials, equipment and other goods to designated locations.
• Carry out loading, unloading, tipping and lifting operations in accordance with established safety procedures.
• Ensure all loads are properly secured and within the vehicle's permitted weight limits before transportation.
• Coordinate with site supervisors, excavator operators and other personnel to ensure accurate vehicle positioning and safe unloading or lifting operations.
• Conduct daily pre-trip and post-trip inspections to ensure the vehicle is in safe and proper working condition.
• Check critical components, including brakes, tyres, hydraulic systems, tipping mechanisms, crane equipment, lifting accessories and other safety devices.
• Maintain the cleanliness of the vehicle's interior and exterior.
• Report any vehicle defects, mechanical issues or equipment malfunctions promptly and arrange for necessary repairs or maintenance.
• Comply with all applicable Singapore road traffic laws, including the Road Traffic Act, as well as relevant workplace safety requirements and company policies.
• Adhere to construction site safety rules, traffic management plans and safe operating procedures.
• Observe all speed limits, road safety requirements and safe driving practices.
• Ensure that lorry crane lifting operations are carried out safely and in accordance with applicable regulations and site requirements.
• Maintain accurate records of deliveries, fuel consumption, mileage, trip logs and other relevant transportation documents.
• Report accidents, incidents, vehicle damage, unsafe conditions and operational issues to the relevant supervisor promptly.
• Ensure all necessary vehicle and operational documents are valid and up to date.
• Work closely with the Project Manager (PM), site supervisors and other relevant personnel to support daily site operations.
• Perform other ad hoc duties as assigned by the Project Manager or Management.
