Job summary

Launch Industries is seeking a hands-on CTO to lead architecture and deployment of AI Agent systems for regulated, process-heavy industrial environments across our portfolio companies. You’ll own the technical roadmap end-to-end, from platform architecture through to on-the-ground client deployment.

You will architect an AI platform that operates on live data, drive digital twin initiatives, ensure governance and compliance, and represent the company at industry events.

Qualifications

• 8+ years in software/AI engineering with CTO-level experience.
• Proven AI deployment in regulated/process-critical industries.
• Strong multi-model AI architecture and generative AI platform design.
• Experience with digital twin, simulation or system integration is a plus.
• Excellent communication with non-technical clients and partners.

About the Role

Launch Industries is looking for a hands‑on CTO to lead the architecture and deployment of AI Agent systems for regulated, process‑heavy industrial environments across our portfolio companies. You’ll own the technical roadmap end‑to‑end, from platform architecture through to on‑the‑ground client deployment.

Key Responsibilities

• Own overall technology strategy and roadmap for the company, spanning infrastructure, data architecture, and tooling, not limited to a single product line.
• Architect and lead development of an AI Agent platform that operates on live operational data, not just static analysis or reporting.
• Design AI systems for complex, process‑heavy workflows in regulated or quality‑critical industries, including integration with existing enterprise/operational systems.
• Lead technology transfer efforts, turning initial proof‑of‑concept deployments into a generalisable, configurable platform that scales across multiple environments.
• Drive digital twin / process simulation initiatives to model and optimise operational workflows.
• Own the AI/data governance framework, ensuring system outputs are auditable, explainable, and trustworthy for enterprise clients.
• Make build‑vs‑buy and vendor/tooling decisions, and manage technology budget and spend.
• Represent the company externally, speak at industry events, support strategic partnerships, and act as technical spokesperson in client and investor conversations
• Report on technology strategy, delivery risk, and resourcing to company leadership

Requirements

• 8+ years in software/AI engineering, with 3+ years in a CTO, VP Engineering, or Head of AI role
• Proven experience deploying AI in regulated or process‑critical industries (pharma, manufacturing, biotech, or similar)
• Strong grasp of multi-model AI architecture and generative AI platform design
• Experience with digital twin, simulation, or systems‑integration work is a strong plus
• Comfortable operating as a builder in an early‑stage/startup environment, not just a strategist
• Excellent stakeholder communication — able to present technical concepts to non‑technical clients and partners
