Job summary

Mitsui Elastomers Singapore Pte Ltd is seeking a Chemical Engineer to support manufacturing processes on Jurong Island. You will ensure compliance with safety standards and environmental regulations while maintaining product quality to meet customer specifications.

The role involves process troubleshooting, investigations, trial production, and opportunities for process optimization. Candidates with 1–3 years of experience are welcome to apply, and overtime may be required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Chemical Engineering or related discipline.
• Entry level candidates without experience are welcome.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office.
• Self-driven, independent and resourceful.
• Effective team player with good communication and presentation skills.
• Possess good analytical thinking and problem solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical support in process troubleshooting and recommend appropriate countermeasures for process efficiency improvement.
• Conduct investigations and analyze plant trouble issues, and identify areas which require improvement or appropriate corrective actions.
• Facilitate trial production to support product improvement and development.
• Identify areas of opportunities for process improvement, modification and optimization ideas.
• Conduct HAZOP studies and ensure safe operation of the manufacturing process.
• Provide technical support in quality investigations and studies.
• Perform regular inspection and ensure optimal condition of manufacturing equipment.
• Participate in sustainability projects to ensure optimal and efficient use of energy and natural resources for production process in accordance with environmental regulations and company’s policy.
• Conduct technical training to Supervisors and Technicians.

Reporting to Assistant Manager, Technical, this position will provide support for the manufacturing process for the chemical plant by ensuring that the production process strictly follows company safety standards and environmental regulations, and the quality of products are within customers’ requirements.
