Job summary

Keppel Club, The is hiring a kitchen assistant to support Chinese and Western food orders at 239 Sime Road, Singapore. You will handle food preparation, cooking, and assembly, ensure stock accuracy, and help maintain a clean, efficient kitchen to meet high standards of quality and service.

The role requires shift work, a six-day week including weekends and public holidays, and the ability to work under pressure with attention to detail.

Qualifications

• Experience in kitchen operations or food preparation is a plus.
• Ability to take instructions and follow recipes.
• High motivation, self-driven and passionate about culinary work.
• Team player with strong communication and reliability.
• Able to commit to shift hours; 6 days per week including weekends and public holidays.

Responsibilities

• Food preparation including chopping, slicing, and measuring ingredients.
• Cooking and assembly of dishes following recipes and procedures.
• Conduct stocktaking and order supplies for your station.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization in the kitchen.
• Receive and store food deliveries, rotate stock to ensure freshness.
• Minimise wastage where appropriate.
• Collaborate with culinary team for timely execution of food orders.
• Assist in maintaining kitchen equipment/tools before and after service.
• Ensure compliance with safety and hygiene guidelines.
• Monitor food stock and place orders when required.
• Adhere to grooming and appearance standards.
• Perform general housekeeping duties.
• Seek to improve work methods and food quality.
• Support club events and ad-hoc tasks.
