Job summary

Western Bulk Pte. Ltd. seeks a Chartering Manager to lead the new wind turbine blade and oversized project-cargo line, combining chartering, business development and leadership with risk controls.

You will originate cargo opportunities, assess vessel economics, negotiate charterparties and coordinate reviews with Operations, Legal and Insurance teams, including Panamax vessel considerations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Maritime Studies, Shipping, Logistics, Business Management or related field.
• 7–10 years in chartering, freight trading or shipping business development with dry-bulk/Panamax exposure.
• Experience in project cargo, breakbulk, heavy-lift or wind-energy logistics required.
• Proven ability to originate business, develop client relationships and negotiate charterparties.
• Strong voyage estimation, freight calculation and P&L understanding.
• Ability to coordinate technical, marine, legal and insurance reviews with stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement commercial strategy for wind blade and project-cargo transport with revenue, margin and risk targets.
• Build a pipeline with wind-turbine manufacturers, developers, EPCs, freight forwarders and ports.
• Analyse markets, flows and freight trends to identify cargo deployment opportunities.
• Prepare voyage estimates and commercial analyses including costs, transit and utilisation.
• Lead negotiations on spot, time-charter and contract opportunities and term details.
• Coordinate feasibility reviews with specialists on stowage, securing, loading, stability and routing.
• Ensure approvals, surveys and risk controls are completed in cooperation with specialists.
• Plan pilot shipments and establish repeatable processes for scaling the business.
• Develop the chartering team and monitor performance and governance.
