Job summary

Art Framing Group in Singapore is seeking a skilled workshop carpenter to build custom frames and related woodwork to precise measurements and high finish standards. You will handle a variety of materials and tools, with care and attention to detail for valuable artwork.

You will work independently or in a small team, follow safety practices, and contribute to on-site deliveries and installations when needed. The role offers on-the-job training and salary based on experience.

Qualifications

• At least 2 years of experience in carpentry, joinery, furniture making, framing or similar woodwork.
• Able to read measurements and simple drawings accurately.
• Good hand skills and attention to detail.
• Comfortable with power tools and workshop machinery.
• Physically fit; able to lift and handle heavy frames and materials.

Responsibilities

• Cut, join and assemble frames from wood and aluminium mouldings to exact specifications
• Operate workshop equipment such as mitre saws, under-pinners, table saws, routers and sanders safely
• Build stretcher bars, shadow boxes, crates and custom display pieces
• Sand, fill, stain, paint and finish frames to a clean gallery standard
• Fit glass, acrylic, mount boards and backing, and prepare frames for hanging
• Pack and crate finished work for delivery; assist with deliveries and on-site installation when needed
• Keep tools, machines and the workshop clean, organised and in good working order
• Follow workplace safety practices and flag any damage or quality issues

About us

Art Framing Group is a Singapore custom framing, fine art printing and art restoration business. We frame everything from limited-edition prints and original paintings to large hotel and commercial projects with hundreds of pieces.

The role

You'll build custom frames and related woodwork in our workshop, working to precise measurements and a high standard of finish. Much of what we frame is valuable artwork, so care and accuracy matter more than speed.

Responsibilities

• Cut, join and assemble frames from wood and aluminium mouldings to exact specifications
