Job description

The Career Conversion Programme (CCP) (Attach-and-Train) for Advanced Biopharmaceuticals Manufacturing Executives/Professionals is a talent development programme aimed at building the next generation of skilled manpower for Singapore’s Biopharmaceuticals manufacturing industry in anticipation of hiring demand. The training programme is 15 months of structured on-the-job training with GSK. Due to the nature of the programme, we can only consider Singapore Citizens and Permanent Residents.

Trainee to be involved in:

Join the Production Engineering team at Singapore Tuas and play a hands‑on role in keeping critical manufacturing equipment safe, compliant, reliable, and high performing. You will be at the center of day‑to‑day engineering support, solving problems fast when issues arise, strengthening reliability so issues do not recur, and driving continuous improvement so we get better every week.

This is a role for engineers who enjoy being close to the process, working with cross‑functional teams, and using both engineering fundamentals and data to improve equipment performance and reduce downtime. You will contribute to an environment where safety and quality come first, and where strong engineering makes a measurable difference to supply performance.

We are looking for you with below attributes:
  • Bachelors degree from an accredited college/university, preferably in Mechanical or Chemical Engineering discipline with a focus in Process equipment reliability and maintenance.
What you will learn:

You will develop a broad understanding of the Vaccine Manufacture Operations, Equipment functionality and how it is key for every step of the process and How GSK’s Tuas site is integrated within the broader network.

Further to this you will develop a deep understanding of:

Quality, Compliance & Investigation
  • Work to Current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP)/Good Engineering Practice expectations: good documentation, audit readiness, and disciplined execution.
  • Participate in and, depending on level, lead deviation investigations, root cause analysis, CAPA and driving timely closure and preventing recurrence.
Maintenance & Troubleshooting
  • Provide frontline engineering support to diagnose and resolve equipment issues, minimizing downtime and restoring stable operations.
  • Coordinate and support planned maintenance activities so work is executed safely, to schedule, and to the right standard.
Reliability Engineering
  • Apply reliability methods to reduce repeat failures using data, structured problem solving, and condition‑based insights (e.g., vibration/alignment/oil analysis/ultrasonic checks where relevant).
  • Support reliability strategy activities such as asset criticality, functional analysis, FMEA, and risk‑based maintenance planning, helping ensure the right work at the right time.
  • Contribute to reliability programs (e.g., RCM‑style improvement of maintenance strategies) to continually improve performance.
Continuous Improvement
  • Identify, propose, and implement CI opportunities that improve equipment performance, reduce maintenance waste, and simplify ways of working.
  • Participate in improvement projects that increase efficiency and strengthen robustness (e.g., PM optimization, failure & waste analysis, performance monitoring).
Collaboration
  • Partner closely with Operations, Quality, MSAT teams, and service providers to deliver safe, compliant, and reliable production.
What are we looking for?
  • A lively interest in vaccines manufacturing, the commercial world and the biopharma industry.
  • Appetite to work as a business partner, building strong relationships with key stakeholders.
  • Adaptability to change and working under pressure.
  • Excellent communication skills that help you influence.
  • Strong problem‑solving skills driven by curiosity.
  • Drive and confidence to trust your own judgment.
  • Great project management skills and the ability to prioritize.
What do we offer you?
  • Monthly training allowances (not subject to CPF contributions).
  • On‑the‑job training while working with a diversified team of professionals.
  • Understand and experience the GSK Culture.
  • Implement technical knowledge and skills that you have acquired.
  • Apply and develop soft skills such as interpersonal, communications and negotiation skills.
  • Transport to and from site to MRT stations in centralised locations all across Singapore.
Where will you be based?

You will be based at one of our manufacturing site in Singapore Tuas.
