Job description

Overview

The Career Conversion Programme (CCP) (Attach‑and‑Train) for Advanced Biopharmaceuticals Manufacturing Executives/Professionals is a talent development programme aimed at building the next generation of skilled manpower for Singapore’s Biopharmaceuticals manufacturing industry in anticipation of hiring demand. The training programme is 15 months of structured on‑the‑job training with GSK. It is open to Singapore Citizens and Permanent Residents only, and monthly training allowances are CPF exempted.

Role Description

This position reports to the Production Superintendent in our Value Streams (VS 1, 2 or 3) team and is an integral member of the Production Shift Team. GSK is committed to an employee‑orientated, high‑performance culture that emphasises process automation, quality compliance and continuous improvement.

Trainee Responsibilities
  • Execute key process operations in accordance with established batch instructions and schedule to manufacture APIs and intermediates as well as plant changeover.
  • Learn Process and Workplace Safety and cGMP knowledge for manufacturing and demonstrate understanding during execution.
  • Identify opportunities for improvement and carry out short‑term improvement projects to achieve benefits.
  • Inspect and maintain housekeeping of the assigned area for clean and safe working conditions, ensuring that personal protection equipment and safety equipment are ready for use.
  • Perform plant troubleshooting using appropriate problem‑solving tools to minimise plant stoppages and safety or quality incidents.
Candidate Attributes
  • Minimum qualification: NITEC / Higher NITEC / Diploma in Chemical Process / Technology / Engineering related.
Learning Objectives
  • Foundational on‑the‑job training experience working in cGMP and key Global Supply API manufacturing site with state‑of‑the‑art manufacturing facilities, including a first‑in‑class Continuous Manufacturing facility.
  • Train to be an advocate for Continuous Improvement, with introductory basics on Lean Sigma concepts and coaching by supervisors to complete practical application through an improvement project.
  • Ability and willingness to work on 12‑hour shift operations.
