Job summary

GSK is seeking candidates for the Career Conversion Programme for Advanced Biopharmaceuticals Manufacturing Executives/Professionals in Singapore. This structured 15-month training on the job offers an opportunity to develop skills in the biopharmaceutical manufacturing industry, focusing on plant modifications, GMP standards, and technical expertise.

Participants will receive monthly training allowances, hands-on experience, and develop both technical and soft skills crucial for the industry.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor Degree in Control or Electrical engineering discipline required.
  • Experience in instrumentation within the pharmaceutical industry is preferred.
  • Knowledge of industrial standards and local codes is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Implement activities for plant modifications and improvements.
  • Lead troubleshooting in instrumentation and improve processes.
  • Maintain site equipment and facilities to high GMP standards.

Skills

Job description

The Career Conversion Programme (CCP) (Attach-and-Train) for Advanced Biopharmaceuticals Manufacturing Executives/Professionals is a talent development programme aimed at building the next generation of skilled manpower for Singapore’s Biopharmaceuticals manufacturing industry in anticipation of hiring demand. The training programme is a 15‑month structured on‑the‑job training with GSK. Due to the nature of the programme, we can only consider Singapore Citizens and Permanent Residents.

Trainee Responsibilities
  • Carry out implementation activities for plant modifications, capital projects and other identified plant improvement projects in line with defined specifications, budget and qualification of facilities in accordance with site to approved procedures.
  • Lead the troubleshooting in Instrumentation and provide continuous improvements to process plant.
  • Maintain the site equipment and facility to high GMP standard meeting the regulatory expectations such that the site is always inspection ready.
  • Apply continuous improvement mindset and knowledge to perform 5S and optimisation of maintenance and calibration activities/frequencies and efficiency.
  • Provide input to the project team of capital projects as well as develop and implement the maintenance plan for newly installed equipment.
  • Provide site inputs to the development of Engineering Standards (ES) and Engineering Policy (EP).
  • Monitor and enforce compliance measures (including safety) within the specific discipline to ensure inspection readiness of plant, as well as participate as an audit team member in the conduct of audits.
  • Supervise, develop, and motivate technicians to help realise their maximum potential so as to contribute towards achieving the objectives of the department.
  • Contribute to the development of the annual operating budget of the section to ensure achievement operational targets of section.
  • Responsible for planning and implementing plant maintenance, managing of engineering resources during plant turnaround and prompt resolution of breakdowns, including engaging external assistance.
  • Support the development of facility master plan to ensure compliance to engineering standards, management of obsolescence and asset replacement.
  • Support customer complaints and deviation investigations and ensure that all relevant engineering corrective actions are completed within the agreed timeline.
  • Prepare and issue Engineering Technical Report and provide input to Periodic Reviews and Annual Validation Report to ensure timely completion of the report.
  • Manage the site computerised maintenance system and its data/records to ensure that the information is accurate and inspection ready at all time. Provide reports from the system and use as tools for maintenance decision.
Education / Qualifications
  • Bachelor Degree in the Control / Electrical engineering discipline.
