Job summary

Nanyang Technological University Singapore's School of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering seeks an Assistant Manager to oversee the CAD laboratory operations, providing technical and administrative support for teaching and research activities.

The role includes ensuring safety in line with ISO 45001, maintaining hardware, configuring systems, and coordinating procurement and inventory to keep the teaching and research lab fully functional.

Qualifications

• Degree in Mechanical/Mechatronics/Manufacturing Engineering.
• 2–3 years in CAD/CAM environment.
• 1–2 years IT administration/configuration experience preferred.
• Proficiency in CAD/CAE software (SolidWorks, SolidCAM, Ansys, Fusion).
• Strong hardware/software troubleshooting skills and safety awareness.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical and administrative support for undergraduate and research activities.
• Support planned teaching of laboratory classes, experiments and projects.
• Maintain and configure computer hardware to ensure good working condition.
• Manage and troubleshoot hardware and software issues in computers and Windows servers.
• Procure laboratory software, equipment, and consumables per purchasing guidelines.
• Laboratory asset management and inventory records.
• Ensure safety practices in the laboratory (ISO 45001).
• Carry out laboratory housekeeping.
• Conduct safety risk assessments for equipment and processes.
• Ensure equipment is maintained, safe to operate and functional.
• Ensure lab resources are sufficient to function as teaching/research lab.
