Job summary

CHEE SIN ENGINEERING PTE. LTD. in Singapore seeks a CAD Drafter to develop electrical and process drawings from concepts, using AutoCAD for 2D and 3D drafting across structural, P&ID, and layouts.

You will read construction documents, revise drawings, manage revisions, and generate BOMs while collaborating with engineers to meet tight schedules and industry standards.

Qualifications

• Diploma in Electrical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Instrumentation, or a related field preferred.
• 1 year minimum experience in electrical drafting or 3 years as a CAD Drafter; able to read construction documents and specs.
• Proficient in AutoCAD, 2D & 3D drafting, and CADD software.
• Strong knowledge of engineering principles and background.
• Proficient with Microsoft Excel and Word.
• Independent, self-motivated, and able to work under tight schedules.
• Willingness to meet deadlines and work overtime if required.

Responsibilities

• Develop and prepare engineering designs and drawings from preliminary concepts, sketches, engineering calculations, specification sheets, and other data.
• Operate computer-assisted design and drafting workstations using CAD software to design and prepare plans.
• Create detailed designs and diagrams according to provided specifications, ensuring compliance with industry standards.
• Revise and correct errors in drawings or plans to maintain accuracy.
• Work closely with engineers to understand project requirements and deliver precise draft plans.
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of AutoCAD software, drafting standards, and industry trends.
• Assist in generating parts lists, Bills of Materials (BOM), reports, and schedules.
• Produce and manage 2D & 3D drawings across disciplines such as structural, P&ID (Schematic), General Arrangements, and Layouts.
• Prepare enclosure specifications and compile material order lists.
• Review drawings for accuracy and completeness, ensuring drafting tasks are completed on schedule.
• Generate material requisition orders and check them against the drawings.
• Maintain and update revisions of all project drawings.
• File documents according to the document control system and perform additional duties as needed.
