Job summary

Grasshopper, a quantitative trading technology provider based in Singapore, invites you to join our exchange simulator projects. As an intern, you will work on expanding protocols, improving performance, and adding features to strengthen testing.

The role suits students in CS/DS/IS with strong C++ foundations, Linux basics, and a collaborative mindset. You will learn from traders, quants and technologists in a flat, autonomous environment.

About the Role:

At Grasshopper, our exchange simulator is a fundamental piece of the process in developing, testing, and deployment of our production applications. In this role, you will be working on the exchange simulator, projects might include:

• Expanding the simulator to support to new exchange protocols
• Improve on existing systems to make it more performant
• Implement new systems or features to strengthen its testing capabilities

The ideal candidate must be passionate about low-level systems programming, high-frequency trading (HFT) architecture, and performance engineering.

What We’re Looking For:

• Currently pursuing a degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Information Systems, or a related technical field
• Solid programming fundamentals especially in C++
• Curiosity, a proactive attitude, and a passion for solving complex problems
• Confidence to respectfully offer alternative viewpoints when you see a better way forward
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively

Nice to haves:

• Familiarity with Linux environments and basic scripting (Bash, Python)
