Job summary

KLA-TENCOR (SINGAPORE) PTE. LTD. is seeking a materials planning professional to optimize procurement and inventory in a high‑mix environment. You will manage purchases, negotiate pricing, and drive improvements in supply chain performance.

Responsibilities include ensuring on‑time PO execution, reducing lead times, and collaborating with suppliers on ECN/ECO changes and VMI programs to maintain production flow and cost efficiency.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, SCM or Logistics.
• 2–3 years of production planning and buying experience.
• Proficient in MS Excel, Word and Outlook; SAP experience desirable.

Responsibilities

• Purchase materials, components and equipment per MRP or reorder point systems.
• Drive GM improvements via supplier pricing, rework costs and PPV reductions.
• Reduce lead times by negotiating with suppliers to improve cycle times.
• Ensure timely PO execution and address supplier quality/capacity issues.
• Drive on-time delivery by supplier performance.
• Participate in supplier business reviews and provide feedback to improve scores.
• Review and execute ECO/ECN changes to avoid production impact.
• Minimize excess inventory with quarterly E&ND reviews with Inventory Analyst.
• Improve inventory turns via MRB execution and RTV returns.
• Quarterly safety stock reviews balancing supply vs turns.

Job description

Responsibilities:

• Purchase materials, components and equipment as driven by MRP system or reorder Point system
• Drive Gross Margin Improvements through negotiations or localization with supplier on pricing, rework cost and minimizing expediting cost and purchase price variance.
• Responsible for materials lead time reduction by getting suppliers to improve cycle time, negotiating on hedges and VMI program.
• Ensure timely PO execution and address supplier’s quality, capacity, materials issues that may affect supply.
• Drive suppliers to meet on time delivery
• Active participation on business review with suppliers and provide constructive feedback to help suppliers to improve their scores
• Ensure accuracy and timeliness of claims from suppliers on ECO and EOM projects.
• Timely review and execute on ECN and ECO changes so that production is not affected.
• Develop actions to minimize excess inventory. Work with Inventory Analyst by providing recommendation during quarterly E&ND review. Follow through the action proposed.
• Drive to improve inventory turns by having quick execution on MRB and quick returns on RTV.
• Quarterly review of safety stock to ensure an optimal balance of supply vs inventory turns.

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering/Supply Chain Management/Logistics
• Minimum 2 to 3 years of related industry experience in production planning and buying
• Proficient in MS Excel, Word, Outlook and experience in SAP system is highly desirable
• Experience in low-volume high-mix Manufacturing environment is a plus
