Job summary

The Building and Construction Authority Singapore (BCA) is seeking a detail-oriented inspector to join the building and façade safety team. You will conduct inspections of windows and unauthorised structures to ensure compliance with Building Control Regulations, communicating findings clearly to stakeholders.

Candidate should have civil/structural engineering training, at least 2 years of site experience, and strong written and spoken English. This is a contract employment opportunity.

Responsibilities

• Surveillance and Investigation/ Regulatory Compliance: Conduct regular inspections to identify non-compliance windows and unauthorised structures; Investigate complaints related to windows and unauthorised constructions and gather relevant information to assess compliance; Interpret and enforce building regulations to ensure structures adhere to regulations.
• Documentation And Reporting: Maintain comprehensive records of window inspections and unauthorised structures, including photographs, violation notices, and correspondence with property owners; Prepare detailed reports outlining findings, compliance status, and recommended actions for regulatory bodies.
• Communication/ Conflict Resolution: Communicate with property owners, developers, and other stakeholders to explain regulations, address concerns, and facilitate compliance; Handle property owners, seeking amicable and compliant resolutions.
