Job summary

GenScript is seeking a highly skilled biochemical engineer to join our Singapore-based team. The role focuses on maintaining lab equipment, optimizing production processes, and driving quality and delivery performance in collaboration with R&D and manufacturing groups.

The ideal candidate holds a Master’s degree in bioengineering or related fields, demonstrates strong problem-solving, data analysis, and proficiency with gene synthesis software, and can work 8-hour shifts, 5 days a week.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree or above in bioengineering, pharmaceutical engineering, molecular biology, or a related field.
• Strong technical problem-solving skills.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office and various professional gene synthesis software.
• Proactively seek business growth points and innovation opportunities and drive continuous process optimization.

Responsibilities

• Maintain equipment and assist in ordering laboratory supplies
• Ensure that all safety guidelines are followed strictly at all times and maintain a clean and orderly environment
• Lead the resolution of technical challenges across platforms, including process optimization, equipment troubleshooting, and handling production/R&D tasks
• Independently complete experiments related to plasmid extraction, screening for positive colonies, sequencing, and following SOP
• Track and analyze On-Time Delivery (OTD) and other operational KPIs to identify improvement opportunities
• Maintain an understanding of gene synthesis, plasmid extraction sequencing, and related production workflows
• Support continuous process improvement initiatives to enhance quality, efficiency, and delivery performance
