Job summary

The Genome Institute of Singapore (A*STAR) is seeking a Bioinformatics Specialist to join the Computational Transcriptomics lab. You will support software development, data management, and workflow optimization while collaborating with national initiatives and international consortia.

You will contribute to ongoing research projects and have the opportunity to lead your own research efforts, working in a supportive, team-oriented environment with strong emphasis on learning and skills

Qualifications

• B.Sc. in Bioinformatics, Computer Science, Statistics, Genomics, or a related discipline
• Strong programming skills in Python or R
• Knowledge of Nextflow or similar workflow managers
• Highly organised with motivation to learn and contribute to the team
• Excellent communication skills

Responsibilities

• Support software development and data management projects
• Optimise code and implement workflows
• Support software maintenance and data management using cloud and on-site compute/storage
• Contribute to ongoing research projects and lead a research project
