Job summary

Lee Kong Chian School of Medicine (LKCMedicine) in Singapore is seeking a Research Associate to support bioinformatics research focused on cancer genomics and cancer screening. The role involves analyzing genomic and clinical data and developing cancer survival prediction models to advance breast cancer research.

You will provide day-to-day bioinformatics support to a PhD student, contribute to project grants, figures, reports and manuscripts, and help communicate findings to the team.

Qualifications

• Masters or equivalent in Bioinformatics, Data Science, Computational Biology, Genomics, Biostatistics or related field.
• Experience in bioinformatics or genomic data analysis through coursework, research projects or employment.
• Familiarity with cancer genomics and statistical methods.
• Good written and oral communication skills.
• Proficiency in R or Python for data analysis and visualisation.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively, with good organisational and time management skills.

Responsibilities

• Analyse cancer genomic and associated clinical data using bioinformatics and statistical methods.
• Perform data cleaning, quality control and integration, and maintain reproducible analysis scripts and records.
• Assist in developing and evaluating survival prediction models for breast cancer research.
• Provide day-to-day bioinformatics support to the PhD student, including analyses and figures for thesis completion and defence.
• Work with the research team to prepare grant proposals, figures, reports and manuscripts, and communicate findings.
