Job summary

The Lee Kong Chian School of Medicine seeks a Research Associate to support bioinformatics research focused on cancer genomics and cancer screening. Qualifications

  • Masters or equivalent in Bioinformatics or related field.
  • Experience in bioinformatics or genomic data analysis.
  • Familiarity with cancer genomics and statistical methods.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills.
  • Proficiency in R or Python for data analysis and visualization.
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively.

Responsibilities

  • Analyse and interpret cancer genomic and associated clinical data using bioinformatics and statistical methods.
  • Perform data cleaning, quality control and integration, and maintain reproducible analysis scripts and records.
  • Assist in developing and evaluating survival prediction models for breast cancer research.
  • Provide day-to-day bioinformatics support to the PhD student, including analyses and figures for thesis completion and defence.
  • Work with the research team to prepare grant proposals, figures, reports and manuscripts, and communicate findings.
