Job summary

Kumon Learning Centre @ The Frontier Community Club in Singapore is seeking a part-time Bilingual Teaching Assistant to support students in Chinese, English, and Mathematics. You will explain concepts clearly in both languages and monitor progress to build confidence and independent study habits.

You will assist with class activities, mark worksheets, and help with daily centre operations while maintaining a positive learning environment.

Qualifications

• Fluent in Chinese and English with clear articulation.
• Experience in teaching assistance or tutoring is a plus.
• Able to support multiple subjects and adapt to student needs.

Job Summary

Join our team as a Bilingual Teaching Assistant to support students in Chinese, English, and Mathematics, helping them build confidence and independent learning skills through clear bilingual instruction and progress monitoring.

Responsibilities

• Assist in teaching Chinese, English, and Mathematics to students, ensuring clear understanding of concepts
• Explain academic concepts and provide translations in both Chinese and English to support non-Chinese-speaking students
• Mark worksheets accurately and monitor students' progress to provide targeted guidance
• Encourage students to develop independent learning habits, confidence, and effective study routines
• Manage classroom activities to maintain a positive and productive learning environment
• Support daily centre operations and assist with other teaching and administrative tasks as needed

Required competencies and certifications

• Proficient in Chinese and English with the ability to communicate and explain concepts clearly in both languages
• Patient and responsible with a passion for working with children
• Comfortable guiding students of varying ages and learning abilities
• Willingness to support multiple subjects including Chinese, English, and Mathematics
• Positive attitude, effective communication skills, and eagerness to learn

Preferred competencies and qualifications

• Prior teaching or tutoring experience is advantageous but not mandatory

Working Schedule

• Position: Part-time
• Working / Class hours:Monday and Thursday: 230pm-8pm, Tuesday: 330pm-6pm, Saturday: 930am-1pm
