Job summary

TutorJohn Learning Centre in Singapore is hiring a Full-Time Chinese Language Tutor for Primary and Secondary students. You will deliver engaging and effective Chinese lessons, strengthen language proficiency, and support academic growth in a structured, supportive learning environment. Location: 822 Tampines Street 81, #02-194.

Work Days: 4 Weekdays + 1 Weekend. Hours: Weekdays 1:00 PM–9:30 PM or 2:00 PM–10:30 PM; Weekends 9:00 AM–6:00 PM.

Qualifications

• Diploma or Degree in Chinese/education preferred.
• At least 1 year of teaching or tutoring experience.
• Strong proficiency in written and spoken Chinese; good English communication.

Responsibilities

• Conduct engaging Chinese lessons for Primary and Secondary students.
• Prepare lesson plans, worksheets, and assessments aligned with MOE syllabus.
• Develop students' Chinese comprehension, composition, vocabulary, grammar, and oral skills.
• Monitor student progress and provide constructive feedback.
• Adapt teaching strategies for diverse learners.
• Assist in daily centre operations and scheduling.
• Collaborate with tutors to maintain teaching standards.
• Build rapport with students to foster a motivating learning environment.

Job Summary

Join TutorJohn Learning Centre as a Full-Time Chinese Language Tutor, delivering engaging and effective Chinese lessons to Primary and Secondary students. You will play an important role in strengthening students' Chinese language proficiency, building their confidence, and supporting their academic growth in a structured and supportive learning environment.

Responsibilities

• Conduct engaging Chinese lessons for Primary and Secondary students to improve their language proficiency, understanding, and confidence.

• Prepare lesson plans, worksheets, and assessments aligned with the Singapore MOE Chinese syllabus.

• Develop students' competencies in Chinese comprehension, composition, vocabulary, grammar, and oral communication.

• Monitor student progress regularly and provide constructive feedback to support learning outcomes.

• Adapt teaching strategies to accommodate students with different learning abilities and language proficiency levels.

• Assist in daily centre operations, including scheduling and administrative duties, to ensure smooth lesson delivery.

• Collaborate with team members to maintain consistent teaching standards and share teaching resources.

• Build positive rapport with students to foster a supportive and motivating learning environment.

Preferred Competencies and Qualifications

• Diploma or Degree holders; qualifications in Chinese Language, Chinese Studies, Education, or related fields are advantageous.

• At least 1 year of teaching or tutoring experience is preferred.

• Strong proficiency in written and spoken Chinese, with the ability to communicate effectively in English.

• Familiarity with the Singapore MOE Chinese syllabus and PSLE or O-Level examination requirements.

• Strong communication skills, classroom management abilities, and student engagement techniques.

• Responsible, committed, and patient approach to supporting student learning.

• Experience working with children or in educational settings is advantageous.

• Ability to work independently and collaborate effectively with fellow tutors.

• Ability to commit to the role until the end of the academic year.
