Responsibilities

• Perform lab work per procedures and guidance from managers/scientists/engineers.
• Generate accurate and traceable lab records and data from testing activities.
• Compile and prepare data reports to support evaluations by application engineers.
• Support lab testing and evaluation activities for Beauty & Home Care.
• Assist with sensory and performance evaluation studies as required.
• Maintain lab equipment and ensure safe operation.
• Maintain lab housekeeping and contribute to safe lab culture.

Summary of Responsibilities

The primary purpose of this role is to support Lubrizol's Beauty & Home Care laboratory activities through laboratory testing, data collection, performance evaluation, and laboratory maintenance. The intern will assist scientists and application engineers in conducting laboratory experiments, generating accurate test results, supporting sensory evaluations, maintaining laboratory equipment and housekeeping standards, and ensuring compliance with safety and HSE requirements.

Essential Job Functions

• Perform laboratory work in accordance with established technical service procedures and guidance provided by technical managers, scientists, or engineers.
• Generate accurate and traceable laboratory records and data from testing activities.
• Compile and prepare logical and systematic raw data reports to support technical evaluations and reporting by application engineers.
• Support laboratory testing and evaluation activities for Beauty & Home Care applications.
• Assist with sensory and performance evaluation studies as required.
• Maintain laboratory equipment and ensure safe operation through routine care and proper usage.
• Participate in laboratory housekeeping activities to maintain a clean, organized, and efficient working environment.
• Support implementation of HSE improvement initiatives and contribute to a safe laboratory culture.
• Ensure compliance with laboratory safety procedures, HSE requirements, and incident reporting processes.

Skills, Qualifications, Experience, Special Physical Requirements

• Currently pursuing a Diploma in Perfumery & Cosmetic Science, or a degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Cosmetic Science, or a related discipline.
• Basic understanding of laboratory practices, testing procedures, and safety requirements.
• Strong organizational skills with attention to detail and accuracy.
• Good written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to document experimental results clearly and maintain accurate laboratory records.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
• Positive attitude, eagerness to learn, and willingness to take on new challenges.
• Ability to work effectively both independently and within a team environment.
• Available to commit to an internship period of six months or longer.
• Ability to work safely in a laboratory environment and perform routine laboratory activities.
