Responsibilities

• Own EL1 pilot line operations, maintaining machinery per SOPs and SWPs.
• Execute jelly roll winding, coin cell assembly and related processes, including glovebox operations.
• Carry out day-to-day lab operations and QC of materials and cells.
• Maintain precise production records and feed learnings back into SOP revisions.
• Coordinate manufacturing with suppliers and partners.

Volt14 offers scalable, drop-in technology solutions to bring cutting-edge lithium-ion battery performance to mass-market applications. We are looking for a self-directed, hands-on Battery Process Engineer to join our technical team in Singapore. You will drive electrode production, machinery handling and laboratory operations, run our EL1 pilot line in accordance with established SOPs and SWPs, and interface with suppliers and production partners to coordinate manufacturing.

Responsibilities

• EL1 Pilot Line Operations: Own hands-on electrode production on the EL1 pilot line, operating and maintaining its machinery strictly in accordance with established SOPs and SWPs, including scheduled preventive maintenance.
• Cell Assembly: Execute jelly roll winding, coin cell assembly and related cell assembly processes, including glovebox operations.
• Laboratory Operations & Testing: Carry out day-to-day lab operations, incoming quality control of materials and cells, and electrochemical testing using battery cyclers.
• Process Documentation: Maintain precise production records and feed process learnings back into SOP and SWP revisions.
• Supplier & Partner Coordination: Interface with suppliers and production partners to coordinate manufacturing, including materials, equipment and production schedules.

Requirements

• Educational Background: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Chemical, Materials or a related engineering discipline.
• Hands-on Experience: Experience with battery testing equipment and precision metrology tools; glovebox experience and familiarity with roll-to-roll coating, calendering or winding equipment is a significant advantage.
• Methodological Rigor: Strong track record of following and enforcing SOPs and SWPs.
• Communication: Clear written and spoken communication; proficiency in Chinese is an asset for supplier coordination.
• Startup Mindset: Comfortable working hands-on in the lab and pilot line and thriving in a fast-paced startup environment.
