Job summary

Keong Saik Bakery is seeking a cafe team member to greet customers, introduce products, and maintain stock and cleanliness. You will ensure displays are well-stocked at opening and throughout the day, operate the POS system, and assist with coffee preparation and packing orders.

The role emphasizes friendly service, initiative in approaching guests, and upselling promotional items while maintaining standards and efficiency in a busy bakery cafe.

Qualifications

• Experience in cafe or hospitality is preferred.
• Ability to greet and engage customers and provide friendly service.
• Willingness to assist with pastry heating, packing, and take-away orders.

Responsibilities

• Greet customers and build rapport with guests.
• Know products to introduce and upsell.
• Ensure bread and cakes are stocked at opening and during hours; update stock on POS.
• Perform barista tasks and maintain coffee standards; brew beverages for preorders.
• Suggestive selling of promotional items to every guest.
• Assist with food preparation and packing takeaway orders.
• Support packing staff when orders are high in the morning.
• Maintain cleanliness of cafe, wipe displays/doors, tidy tables and chairs.
• Wash dishes; sweep and mop floors.
• Perform any other duties as required by the Company.

Work location: Luzerne (Bendemeer)

Prioritize customers - Greet every customer, treat them as your guest, serve with a smile, take initiative to approach customer and build rapport with them;

Product knowledge - Understand the products so as to be able to introduce them to customers;

Ensure bread and cake displays are fully stocked at opening time, as well as throughout operating hours. Ensure stock level and availability is updated on POS system.

Barista duties - ensure coffee is calibrated and standards are maintained. Brew coffee/tea/milo dispensers if there are preorders.

Suggestive selling and recommend promotional items to every single guest

Food preparation such as heating up pastries, packing takeaway orders.

May be required to support packing staff in the morning if there are a lot of orders.

Maintain cleanliness & tidiness of the cafe - glass display and glass doors are wiped regularly, chairs are placed neatly, tables are cleared and wiped timely

Wash dishes
