Job summary

NCS invites applications for an IT Systems Administrator to install, test, and implement systems in line with service level requirements. You will manage changes, conduct root cause analyses, and develop robust backup/restore and disaster recovery plans to ensure uninterrupted operations.

You will advise customers and project teams on systems, troubleshoot PSIM and security infrastructure, and configure backend servers (Linux and Windows) with CIS hardening.

Qualifications

• Educational background in EE/ Electronics/ IT from a recognized institution.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to explain technical concepts clearly to non-technical stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Install, test, and implement systems per specifications and SLAs.
• Manage system changes via change request processes; communicate status to stakeholders.
• Perform root cause analysis and implement preventive measures.
• Develop service continuity plans, including backup/restore and DR procedures.
• Provide technical guidance to customers and project teams.
• Troubleshoot PSIM, CCTV, access control, alarm & intrusion systems, and network infra issues.
• Backend system configuration: CIS hardening, Linux/Windows server setup, and REAR restoration.

Job Description

1. Install, test, and implement systems in accordance with specifications and service level requirements, ensuring compliance with industry best practices.
2. Manage systems changes using an established change request process, including assessing the impact, obtaining necessary approvals, and communicating status updates to multiple stakeholders.
3. Conduct root cause analysis for system issues and proactively implement measures to prevent recurrence. Continuously monitor the effectiveness of implemented measures and make adjustments as necessary.
4. Develop and implement comprehensive service continuity measures, including robust backup/restore procedures and disaster recovery plans, to ensure uninterrupted business operations in the event of disruption.
5. Provide expert technical advice and guidance on systems to customers and project teams, assisting them in making informed decisions and resolving complex technical issues.
6. Good to have troubleshooting skills and resolving issues related to PSIM (Physical Security Information System), CCTV surveillance systems, access control, alarm & intrusion systems, and network infrastructure.
7. Must have backend system configuration and setup skill sets & experience as below:
   • Perform CIS hardening for Windows and Linux Server
   • Perform configuration of Linux Server
     • User account with limited privilege (sudoers)
     • SSH account (sshd_config)
     • Password control (chage/passwd)
     • Server restoration with REAR
   • Perform basic computer and network maintenance

Qualifications

1. Educational Qualification:
   • Required: Nitec/Higher Nitec/diploma/degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, or Information Technology (IT) from a recognized institution.
2. Communication Skills:
   • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, to effectively communicate with team members, clients, and stakeholders.
   • Ability to explain technical concepts clearly and concisely.
