Job summary

Capgemini Singapore is seeking an experienced backend Java Developer to design, build, and maintain robust enterprise-grade services. You will implement microservices with Spring, integrate Kafka-based event streams, and ensure secure, scalable APIs while collaborating with cross-functional teams in a fast-paced environment.

The role emphasizes production support, architecture influence, and adherence to regulatory and security standards within financial systems.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, or a related field.
• 3–7 years of hands-on backend development experience with Java.
• Strong Java (JDK 17+), Spring Boot and Spring Cloud expertise.
• Solid microservices, RESTful API design knowledge.
• Experience with Kafka or similar messaging platforms.
• Multithreading, concurrency and performance tuning proficiency.
• Relational/NoSQL DB experience (PostgreSQL, MongoDB).
• Containerization with Docker/Kubernetes; CI/CD awareness.
• Security knowledge (OAuth2/JWT/encryption) and cloud familiarity.

Responsibilities

• Develop Java services integrated in end-to-end processing.
• Design and code robust, secure APIs to persist/retrieve data.
• Provide L3 production support and participate in code reviews.
• Offer technical leadership and influence architectural decisions.
• Collaborate with product, QA, and infrastructure teams.
• Ensure regulatory, security, and audit compliance for financial systems.
• Build enterprise-grade apps using Java 17+ and Spring ecosystem.
• Design microservices architecture and utilize Kafka for events.
• Implement multi-threading, concurrency handling, and performance optimizations.
• Adhere to SOLID, design patterns and secure coding practices.
