Job summary

Sea is seeking a backend engineer to design, build, and ship scalable cloud-native services using Python or Go. You will partner with stakeholders, backend engineers, and cross-functional teams to take business needs from estimation to production, focusing on performance, reliability, and developer experience.

This role requires strong CS fundamentals, experience with Linux, Docker, Nginx, and RESTful APIs, plus a passion for clean code, reviews, and documentation, and the ability to own backend

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or above in Computer Science, Information Systems, Computer Engineering, IT or related field.
• Relevant full-time or internship experience in Backend/Fullstack/Software development.
• Strong CS fundamentals: data structures, algorithms, OS, networks, DBs.
• Experience with Python or Go.
• Familiarity with OOP, RESTful API design, relational DB design.
• Linux development environments, with Docker and Nginx exposure.
• Passion for coding and solving complex technical challenges.
• Experience in web security and large-scale distributed systems preferred.
• Strong ownership of product delivery, driving backend initiatives from planning to production.

Responsibilities

• Partner with stakeholders and cross-functional teams to transform business needs into scalable backend solutions.
• Design, build, and ship scalable cloud-native backend services from concept to production.
• Contribute to enterprise systems using Python or Go and related frameworks.
• Write clean, maintainable, well-tested code with strong ownership of quality via reviews and documentation.
• Enable reliable delivery through infrastructure and deployment practices, optimizing performance and developer workflows.
