Job summary

SCIENTEC CONSULTING PTE. LTD. is seeking a seasoned Database Administrator to manage Azure SQL Database, Azure SQL Managed Instance and SQL Server on Azure VMs. The role emphasizes high availability, backups, security, and compliance within a hybrid Central location.

You will implement monitoring, performance tuning, disaster recovery, and access controls, aligning with GCC Azure and PDPA standards. A Diploma/degree and 4+ years of DBA experience are expected.

Qualifications

• Diploma or degree in CS/IT/Engineering or related field.
• Minimum 4 years of database administration experience.
• Hands-on with Azure SQL Database, Azure SQL Managed Instance and/or SQL Server on Azure VMs.
• Strong knowledge of T-SQL, stored procedures, DMVs and performance tuning.
• Experience with backup/recovery, Always On Availability Groups, failover and DR.

Responsibilities

• Administer and maintain Azure SQL Database, Azure SQL Managed Instance and SQL Server on Azure VMs.
• Perform provisioning, patching, backup, restore, high availability and DR activities.
• Execute T-SQL scripts, stored procedures and scheduled jobs for prod and non-prod.
• Monitor and optimise database performance, capacity, security and availability.
• Configure monitoring/alerts using Azure Monitor, Log Analytics and Defender for SQL.
• Manage database security, access controls, encryption and audit requirements.
• Maintain runbooks, change records and recovery procedures.
• Support GCC Azure, IM8, PDPA and security standards.
