Job summary

Sumitomo Mitsui Banking Corporation (SMBC) Singapore invites an AVP to oversee client onboarding facilitation across FI/NBFI and Corporate clients. You will drive a smooth onboarding journey, guide documentation readiness, and ensure proactive follow-up with internal teams to reduce lead times and maintain momentum.

You will collaborate with RMs, Legal, Compliance, Operations, Credit, Risk and Tech, applying MAS guidelines and regulatory onboarding requirements while maintaining high standards

Qualifications

• At least 4–7 years of experience in banking onboarding or related control functions.
• KYC knowledge for FI, NBFI and Corporate clients, with clear guidance for clients and stakeholders.
• Strong organisational, communication and follow-up skills in time-sensitive onboarding priorities.
• Proficiency with onboarding workflow systems, dashboards or case trackers is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Apply KYC knowledge across FI/NBFI/Corporate clients to guide documentation readiness.
• Coordinate with RMs, product teams, Legal, Compliance, Operations, Credit, Risk and Tech.
• Drive timely onboarding actions through disciplined tracking and escalation.
• Maintain SLA/KPI monitoring and onboarding readiness checks.
• Escalate blockers early with clear actions and ownership.
• Support process improvements and VOC initiatives to shorten lead times.
