Job summary

Thales in Singapore is seeking an experienced Cloud Architect to join our International Avionics Lab. You will design cloud architectures for aviation and digital solutions, focusing on secure, scalable, and resilient platforms that support distributed applications and data services.

The role requires strong expertise in AWS/Azure/GCP, Kubernetes, Terraform, and CI/CD, with a background in aerospace or air-transport IT systems. You will lead cloud-related projects and mentor junior engineers.

Qualifications

• Typically 5+ years in cloud architecture or distributed platform engineering.
• Background in aerospace, avionics, airline operation IT systems or air traffic management.
• Strong experience designing cloud-native architectures.
• Experience in AWS / Azure / GCP, Kubernetes, container platforms, infrastructure-as-code (Terraform), microservices architectures, CI/CD pipelines.
• Knowledge of messaging middleware like Kafka/MQ and related tech.
• Ability to assess cybersecurity of cloud technologies, architectures and deployments.
• Familiarity with multiple programming languages (Python, C/C++, Java, etc.).
• Proven experience guiding small teams or junior engineers.

Responsibilities

• Define infrastructure patterns for distributed applications and data service
• Select appropriate cloud services and deployment strategies
• Design scalable and resilient cloud architectures of the Lab’s platforms and innovation demonstrators, thinking out of the box, and work collaboratively with the rest of the team to build a shared approach consensus
• Provide technical guidance for cloud-native development and deployments
• Lead cloud-related technical projects when required
