Job summary

Micron Technology, Inc. in Singapore seeks an intern for a five-month project in the Digital Automation & Solutions Team.

You will develop a dynamic scheduling system for Autonomous Mobile Robot fleet operations, evaluating queueed delivery requests in real time and determining grouping or immediate release to robots, aiming to reduce fleet-wide delivery time. Qualifications

• Foundation in optimization, operations research, scheduling, routing, or combinatorial optimization.
• Programming knowledge for modelling and analysis, preferably Python.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work with data, process flows, and operational constraints.
• Good communication and documentation skills.
• Familiarity with optimization solvers such as Gurobi or Google OR Tools is preferred.
• Familiarity with simulation, data analytics, AI-enabled workflows, Generative AI, Code Assist tools, or LLMs is preferred, where relevant to the project.

Responsibilities

• Study current manual dispatching and delivery grouping processes.
• Identify relevant data inputs, constraints, and decision factors.
• Formulate scheduling and delivery grouping as an optimization model.
• Develop and test a real-time scheduling algorithm.
• Compare algorithm performance against current dispatching outcomes.
• Document methodology, results, and recommendations for future implementation.
