Job summary

HOYA Electronics Singapore Pte Ltd is hiring an Automation Technician to support and troubleshoot production machines, ensuring uptime and continuous operation on the shop floor. You will provide engineering support for automation equipment, including installation, upgrades and maintenance.

The role requires disciplined 5S practices, inventory control and collaboration with cross-functional teams in a fast-paced semiconductor environment.

Qualifications

• Minimum NITEC/Diploma in Engineering.
• 1–2 years of semiconductor industry experience preferred.
• Good team player.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
• Proficiency in English; bilingualism a plus.

Responsibilities

• Support, maintain and troubleshoot production machines to ensure uptime.
• Provide engineering, production and application support for automation equipment.
• First-level front-end support to maintain AMHS operations and troubleshoot AMHS systems.
• Perform daily checks to monitor equipment parameters and update monitoring systems.
• Carry out corrective/preventive maintenance, upgrades or improvements.
• Ensure 5S housekeeping and safety at workstations.
• Monitor equipment utilization and OEE performance.
• Manage critical spare parts and inventory records.

Get to Know the Role

We are seeking a skilled Automation Technician to join our team. In this role, you will support and troubleshoot production machines to ensure consistent uptime. Responsibilities include providing engineering support for automation equipment and handling tasks such as maintenance, installation, and upgrades. You will also ensure workstations maintain excellent safety and housekeeping standards while managing spare parts inventory for smooth operations, so you should be organised and have a keen eye for detail.

Essential Responsibilities

• Support, maintain and troubleshoot production machines to ensure consistent machines uptime.
• Provide engineering, production and application support for automation equipment with regard to operation, troubleshooting, maintenance, installation or upgrading.
• First-level, front-end support to maintain AMHS operations and troubleshoot AMHS, including RGV (Rail Guided Vehicles), OHT (Overhead Hoist Transfer) and AIV (Automated Intelligent Vehicles).
• Performdaily/routine checks to monitor equipment operating parameters and MPI/MMMcheck sheets, prompt updating onto monitoring system to ensure operations are within control specifications.
• Troubleshoot and perform quick equipment breakdown recovery, carry out corrective/preventivemaintenance, upgrading, modification or improvement work together with
• Ensure workstations are in excellent 5S housekeeping and safety
• Monitor the automation equipment utilization performance through OEE (availability and performance rates).
• Help to manage and control critical spare parts and inventory record/management regularly.
• Assist with other ad hoc duties as assigned by your supervisor

Skills and Competencies Profile

• Minimum NITEC/Diploma in Engineering.
• 1 to 2 years related working experience in semiconductor industry is preferred.
• Good team player.
• Good knowledge of Microsoft Office.
• Proficiency in English. Being bilingual will be considered an advantage.

Additional Information

• Willing to work in 12-hour rotating shift (4working day/3 rest day/3 working day/4 rest day).
• Flexibility to work OT on off/rest days is advantageous.
