Job summary

HOYA Electronics Singapore Pte Ltd is seeking a skilled Automation Technician to join our team. You will support and troubleshoot production machines to ensure uptime, provide engineering support for automation equipment, and handle maintenance, installation, and upgrades while maintaining safety and 5S standards.

The role requires organization and a keen eye for detail, with on-site responsibilities and potential for overtime in a fast-paced semiconductor environment.

Qualifications

• NITEC / Diploma in Mechanical Engineering; fresh graduates may apply, OR
• 1 - 2 years of relevant working experience in the semiconductor industry, or prior experience in equipment maintenance, troubleshooting, or related roles, is preferred
• Basic computer skills with proficiency in Microsoft Office, specifically Excel
• Able to work independently with initiative and accountability in a fast-paced environment
• Strong team player with good communication and problem-solving skills
• Adaptable and detail-oriented

Responsibilities

• Support the operations, maintenance, installation, or upgrading of automation equipment
• Provide first level, front-end support to maintain AMHS operations and troubleshooting, including RGV (Raid Guided Vehicles), OHT (Overhead Hoist Transfer) and AIV (Automated Intelligent Vehicles)
• Perform daily / routine checks to monitor equipment operating parameters and MPI / MMM check sheets, promptly updating onto the monitoring system to ensure operations are within control specifications
• Troubleshoot and perform quick equipment breakdown recovery, carry out corrective / preventive maintenance, and assist in upgrades, modifications or improvement work
• Ensure workstations are in excellent 5S housekeeping and safety
• Monitor the automation equipment utilization performance through OEE
• Help to manage and control critical spare parts and inventory record / management regularly
• Assist with other ad hoc duties as assigned by your supervisor
