Job summary

SATS Ltd. is seeking an Intern in Automation and Innovation to support process improvement across food production and catering workflows.

You will analyze bottlenecks, assist time-and-motion studies, and help deploy automation solutions like conveyors and labeling systems while collaborating with culinary, logistics, and QA teams. Documentation and training materials will be developed to support pilot projects.

Responsibilities

• Work with Process Improvement Intern to analyze existing food production and catering workflows to identify bottlenecks and inefficiencies.
• Assist in time-and-motion studies to compare current cycle times vs. takt time and propose headcount optimization.
• Support the deployment of automation solutions such as conveyor systems, labeling machines, or packing aids.
• Evaluate digital tools (IoT sensors, data dashboards, barcode scanning, etc.) to improve traceability and quality control.
• Collaborate with culinary, logistics, and QA teams to test and implement pilot projects.
• Document process changes, SOP updates, and assist in developing training materials.
• Propose market trends and emerging technologies in food automation, robotics, and smart catering.
• Develop proof-of-concept / minimal-viable-product digital solutions
