Job summary

Molex Singapore is seeking an Automation Engineer (Controls) to design, develop, and support machine-level automation and control systems for our manufacturing operations. You will lead automation projects, implement MES integrations, and collaborate with internal stakeholders and vendors to improve machine performance and data visibility.

Qualifications

• Diploma or Degree in Mechatronics, Electrical Engineering, or Electronic Engineering.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in industrial automation or controls engineering.
• Hands-on experience with PLC programming and configuration, including Omron and Beckhoff platforms.
• Experience in OPC software (Kepware, Ignition), SQL DB and python scripting.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and implement electrical and control systems for machines and automation cells, including PLCs, HMIs, drives, sensors, and wiring.
• Implement and maintain MES integrations at the machine level using Kepware and Ignition software, ensure reliable data flow to plant systems and historians.
• Ensure data integrity of production dashboards data.
• Implement machine and vision data collection; create and maintain process analytics dashboards.
• Lead and coordinate buy-off processes for machines in collaboration with vendors; oversee Hipot testers and laser marking systems; overseas travel required.
• Mentor and support electrical and controls technicians; foster continuous learning and growth.
