Job summary

WuXi AppTec Singapore seeks an experienced automation specialist to oversee technical requirements for factory control systems, including DCS, EMS, SIS, BMS, and GDS. You will manage on-site deployment planning and coordinate with automation suppliers to review drawings and ensure alignment with construction progress.

The role requires a bachelor’s degree in industrial automation or related fields, 10+ years of experience, and strong English communication and problem-solving skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or above in Industrial automation or related majors.
• Not less than ten years of work experience.
• Possess good English listening, speaking, reading and writing skills.
• Strong coordination and communication skills.
• Strong problem-solving skills.
• Project experience with batch control and continuous control is preferred.
• Familiarity with Emerson or Yokogawa DCS is preferred; familiarity with Honeywell or Siemens PLC is preferred.
• Candidates with Systems Engineer qualifications are preferred.

Responsibilities

Job description

• Responsible for the technical requirements review of factory control systems at the Singapore site, including DCS, EMS, SIS, BMS, GDS, and integrated packaged equipment.
• Responsible for the OT/DMZ network construction and review of IT technical requirements at the Singapore site.
• Responsible for coordinating and organizing communication and technical exchanges with automation related suppliers, as well as reviewing design documents and drawings.
• Responsible for tracking and confirming that the system integration of the automation system project is in line with the progress of the construction of the Singapore site.
• Responsible for the on-site positioning and structural deployment of automation system cabinets and other related equipment.
• Responsible for coordinating communication and joint review of design drawings with professional and technical personnel from mechanical, electrical, instrumentation and process disciplines.
• Responsible for participating in PHA review and updates for process safety at the Singapore site.
• Responsible for guiding suppliers to draft and review internal test/FAT/SAT and GMP-related IOQ documents.
• Responsible for FAT debugging and confirmation of automation system, and reviewing FAT report documents.
• Responsible for coordinating with the procurement department regarding the shipment of the automation system to Singapore.
• Responsible for the confirmation and review of the installation environment of the automation system.
• Responsible for the confirmation of the on-site deployment plan and checklist for the automation system, and lead the on-site installation of the system.
• Responsible for the on-site SAT of the automation system and the preparation of the system before power-up and lead the system power-up commissioning.
• Responsible for coordinating and arranging the personnel work assignment of the system suppliers and construction contractors.
• Responsible for promptly handling and resolving any issues or abnormalities that occur during the commissioning and installation of the system.
• Responsible for technical transformation and design changes in the execution of the automation system.
• Responsible for the timely approval and file optimization of C&Q controlled documents.
• Responsible for online integration testing and verification of automation system and IT/OT systems.
• Responsible for the commissioning of automation system cabinets, servers, and loops to ensure that the results meet GMP, CSV and other relevant requirements.
• Responsible for drafting, updating and reviewing Automation related SOPs and TWIs documents for the Singapore site.
• Responsible for communication and coordination between the workshop, validation team and the local automation team to carry out the validation of the automation system and the workshop.
• Responsible for reviewing the submission and delivery of final automation documents and the completion of project documentation.

Competency

Bachelor’s degree or above
