Job summary

VDL ETG Singapore is seeking an Automation Engineer to design, develop, and implement AI‑driven robotic systems for automated assembly and inspection. You will collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to deliver high‑quality, reliable manufacturing solutions.

Ideal candidates have degrees in automation or related fields, strong programming skills in Python, experience with TensorFlow/PyTorch, and hands‑on knowledge of PLCs and industrial protocols like EtherCAT and Modbus.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Automation Engineering, Robotics, AI, Mechatronics, Mechanical or related field.
• Experience in automation engineering with a focus on AI and robotics is preferred.
• Familiarity with PLC programming and industrial communication protocols (EtherCAT, Modbus, IoT, etc.).
• Strong problem-solving abilities and analytical thinking.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams.
• Proficiency in programming languages (Python).
• Proven track record in designing and deploying robotic systems and AI-driven inspection tools is preferred.
• Knowledge of AI frameworks (TensorFlow, PyTorch) including machine learning algorithms and robotic platforms is preferred.
