Job summary

SSMC (Systems on Silicon Manufacturing Company Pte. Ltd.) invites applications for Associate Engineer/Senior Associate Engineer in the Automation & Systems (AMHS & Support) Department.

Qualifications

• Diploma in Mechanical, Electrical, Mechatronics, or related field is required.
• Associate degree in Electronics, Mechatronics, Industrial Maintenance, or related field preferred.
• 1–3 years of experience with automation equipment or AMHS in manufacturing or warehouse setting.
• Basic understanding of electrical, mechanical, and control systems.
• Ability to read schematics, manuals, and technical drawings.
• Willingness to work in shifts, including weekends or on-call as needed.
• Familiarity with AMHS vendors like Daifuku or Muratec and SECS/GEM interactions.

Responsibilities

We’re searching for an Associate Engineer/ Senior Associate Engineer to be part of our Automation & Systems (AMHS & Support) Department diverse team of talent.

What you will be working on:

• Performing routine maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs on Automated Material Handling Systems to ensure smooth and continuous material flow.
• Monitor AMHS performance via control systems and dashboards.
• Respond promptly to system alarms and faults, ensuring minimal disruption to operations.
• Perform basic troubleshooting on conveyors, OHT (Overhead Transport), stockers, hoists, and related subsystems.
• Perform preventive maintenance (PM) as per schedule and checklists.
• Conduct inspections and routine servicing of mechanical, electrical, and sensor components.
• Replace worn or faulty parts such as belts, motors, sensors, and actuators.
• Identify causes of AMHS malfunctions using diagnostic tools and system logs.
• Escalate complex issues to AMHS Engineers or OEM support as needed.
• Pass down all repair and troubleshooting activities accurately.
• Assist in start-up and shutdown procedures of the AMHS.
• Support lot recovery operations and ensure safe transport of materials.
• Follow cleanroom protocols and safety guidelines where applicable.
• Assist in maintaining an organized stock of tools and components.
• Provide feedback on recurring issues and suggest improvements to maintenance procedures.
• Participate in system upgrades, retrofits, and project support as required.
• Work at height

More about you:

• Diploma in (Mechanical, Electrical, Mechatronics, or related field)
• Ability to work at height using ladders mobile platforms and safety harness/ Work at height certified
• Associate degree in Electronics, Mechatronics, Industrial Maintenance, or related field preferred.
• 1–3 years of experience working with automation equipment or AMHS systems in a manufacturing or warehouse environment.
• Basic understanding of electrical, mechanical, and control systems.
• Ability to read schematics, manuals, and technical drawings.
• Strong attention to detail and safety awareness.
• Ability to work independently and in a team in Standard or swing shift
• Willingness to work in shifts, weekends, or on-call as needed.
• Experience with systems such as Daifuku, Muratec, or similar AMHS vendors.
• Familiarity with cleanroom protocols (for semiconductor fabs).
• Basic understanding of SECS/GEM interactions.
