Job summary

Pathlight School is seeking a Psychologist to support students on the autism spectrum with assessments, intervention, and life readiness skill development. The role involves cognitive assessments, report writing for Access Arrangements for national exams, and co-developing assessment processes across needs areas.

You will deliver positive behaviour support, plan and deliver classroom-based lessons on work habits and social communication, and provide evidence-informed consultation to school

Qualifications

• Min. Masters in Clinical or Educational Psychology or related fields.
• Registered member of SPS and/or eligible for full registration without supervision.
• Desire to learn about autism and the passion to serve the autism community.
• Flexibility and adaptability to changes and different perspectives.
• Ability to work independently and collaborate in a dynamic work environment.

Responsibilities

• Assessment & Report Writing: conduct cognitive assessments and write reports for Access Arrangements and Mental Capacity.
• Intervention: develop and deliver behaviour plans; manage crisis support; participate in school-wide initiatives on positive behaviour approaches.
• Program Development: participate in curriculum and program development projects.
• Coaching/Training: provide training to educators and parents on autism-related issues; plan outreach to external stakeholders.
