Job summary

Pathlight School is seeking an Educator to plan engaging lessons and deliver instruction aligned with the national curriculum while supporting students with autism and related needs. The role includes developing data-based IEP/ITP goals in collaboration with families and professionals, and employing AAC or assistive technologies to enhance learning outcomes.

Qualifications

• Diploma or GCE A Levels required.
• NIE PGDE/DISE or equivalent teaching qualification will be considered as trained Educator.
• No prior experience required — training will be provided.
• Passion to help special needs students maximise their talents and potential.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong critical-thinking and creativity to develop learning strategies.
• Good instructional skills to explain concepts clearly.

Responsibilities

• Plan engaging and well-paced lessons considering diverse learner profiles.
• Deliver lessons using evidence-based pedagogy with meaningful activities.
• Implement assessments to monitor progress and provide feedback.
• Build relationships with students and support their development.
• Develop IEP/ITP goals with families and professionals.
• Use AAC methods and assistive learning tools where needed.
• Create safe, structured classroom routines and positive behaviours.
• Manage emergencies and uphold school processes.
• Participate in professional development and team learning.
