Job summary

Autism Resource Centre (Singapore) invites you to join the Youths for Autism (YFA) Internship Programme, offering hands-on experience in special education or inclusive workplace settings while contributing to the learning, development, and well-being of students or clients with autism. Remuneration: SGD 1,600 per month.

Internship periods: Now to End November/December 2026; End December 2026 to End May/June 2027. Working hours: Mon-Fri, 7.30am-4.30pm / 8am-5pm / 9am-6pm; deployment may vary.

Qualifications

• Passion for working with children or youths with special needs.
• Patient, responsible and willing to learn.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Able to commit to full duration of the internship.
• No prior experience required – training will be provided.

Responsibilities

• Support teachers or job coaches in delivering daily learning and engagement activities for students or clients with autism.
• Assist in managing routines and ensuring a structured, safe, and supportive environment, whether in the classroom or workplace.
• Provide one-on-one or small group support to students or clients, based on their individual needs.
• Help with the preparation of teaching, training, or vocational materials and resources.
• Participate in student care activities, such as mealtimes, transitions, and outdoor learning.
• Collaborate with teachers and other team members to support the holistic development of students.
• Support school-wide or centre-wide events and initiatives (e.g., learning journeys, career fairs, or social activities).
