Job summary

chee fm & associates in Singapore seeks an experienced Audit Manager to lead statutory financial statement audits, special-purpose audits, and grant audits in compliance with SSA. You will manage and mentor senior audit staff, review working papers, and liaise with partners.

The role requires strong knowledge of SSA, SFRS, Companies Act, and regulatory requirements, with excellent leadership and client management.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting/finance or related discipline with professional certification preferred.
• At least 6–8 years of external audit experience with supervisory exposure.
• Strong knowledge of SSA, SFRS, Companies Act, and local regulatory requirements.

Responsibilities

• Lead planning, execution, and completion of statutory financial statement audits, special-purpose audits, and grant audits in compliance with SSA.
• Manage and mentor senior audit associates; review working papers for quality and proper documentation.
• Review and approve audit working papers, management letters, and audit reports before Partner review.
• Assist Partners in managing client portfolios, resource planning, engagement scheduling, and business development.
• Monitor changes in accounting, auditing, and regulatory standards and keep methodologies current.
• Oversee project budgeting, resource planning.
• Act as primary client contact, manage expectations, resolve complex accounting issues, and communicate audit findings to management.

Key Responsibilities

Requirements & Qualifications

• Education & Professional Certifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accountancy, Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline.

  • Chartered Accountant qualification (CA Singapore, ACCA, CPA Australia, or equivalent) preferred.

• Work Experience:

  • Minimum 6–8 years of relevant external audit experience.

  • At least 2–3 years in a supervisory or managerial capacity.

  • Proven track record of managing multiple audit engagements simultaneously.

• Technical Knowledge & Skills:

  • Strong knowledge of Singapore Standards on Auditing (SSA), Singapore Financial Reporting Standards (SFRS), the Companies Act, and local regulatory requirements.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and professional audit software (e.g., Caseware, AuditCommand).

• Soft Skills & Leadership:

  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and critical-thinking abilities.

  • Strong leadership, team management, and interpersonal communication skills.
