Job summary

DBS Bank Ltd is seeking a Business Analyst for the Payments Domain in Singapore. You will collaborate with business stakeholders, product owners and operations to capture, analyze, and document requirements for payments, translating them into user stories and acceptance criteria.

You will work with engineering, QA, and testing teams to ensure delivery of clear, testable specifications. Location: DBS Asia Hub, Singapore.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in business, information systems, computer science, engineering or related field.
• 2-4 years of business analysis experience in banking, financial services or tech projects.
• Understanding of Corporate Internet Banking, Digital Banking, Payments or financial platforms.
• Experience gathering and documenting business requirements, user stories, process flows and specs.
• Familiarity with Agile (Scrum/Kanban) delivery.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
• Excellent communication with business users, developers and stakeholders.
• Experience preparing BRD, FSD, User Stories, Process Flows, Acceptance Criteria, TRMs.
• Knowledge of payment processing concepts: initiation, workflows, maker-checker, status, notifications, entitlements.
• Exposure to API-based systems and modern banking platforms is a plus.
• Experience supporting QA and Test Automation by defining test scenarios.
• Familiar with JIRA, Confluence, MS Office, Visio or process mapping tools.
• Experience with AI productivity tools: Copilot, ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini.
• Excellent written and verbal communication; self-motivated and adaptable to Agile.

Responsibilities

• Work closely with stakeholders, product owners and operations to capture and document business requirements for Payments.
• Lead requirement workshops and walkthroughs to ensure understanding and traceability.
• Translate requirements into functional specs, user stories, flows, rules and acceptance criteria.
• Collaborate with engineering to clarify scenarios and support solution design.
• Maintain complete documentation, traceability and change/version control.
• Support Agile activities: backlog grooming, sprint planning, story refinement, reviews and demos.
• Align requirements across Payments, Accounts, Entitlements, Approvals and Notifications.
• Document payment workflows, approval and entitlement rules, and transaction lifecycles.
• Support test planning, test cases and UAT with clear business scenarios and criteria.
• Work with QA and Test Automation to develop test scenarios for functional/integration testing.
• Validate delivered functionality against requirements and assist defect triage.
• Ensure changes are version-controlled and properly documented.
• Participate in release planning, production prep and post-release validation.
• Leverage AI tools to improve requirement documentation and quality assurance.

Key Responsibilities

• Work closely with business stakeholders, product owners and operations teams to understand, analyze and document business requirements for the Payments Domain.
• Facilitate requirement gathering workshops, discussions and walkthrough sessions to ensure business requirements are clearly understood and documented.
• Translate business requirements into functional specifications, user stories, process flows, business rules, acceptance criteria and implementation-ready documentation.
• Collaborate closely with engineering teams to explain requirements, clarify functional scenarios, and support solution design discussions.
• Maintain accurate and complete project documentation to ensure requirements, assumptions, decisions and scope are clearly recorded and traceable, minimizing ambiguity during development and testing.
• Support Agile delivery activities including backlog grooming, sprint planning, user story refinement, requirement reviews and sprint demonstrations.
• Work with Payments, Accounts, Entitlements, Approvals and Notification teams to understand process dependencies and ensure requirements remain aligned across domains.
• Assist in documenting payment workflows, approval flows, entitlement rules, notification requirements and transaction lifecycle processes.
• Support test planning, test case preparation and UAT activities by ensuring business scenarios and acceptance criteria are well defined.
• Work with QA and Test Automation teams to help develop functional, integration and automation test scenarios based on documented requirements.
• Validate delivered functionality against business requirements and support defect triage, root cause discussions and issue resolution activities.
• Ensure all requirements, changes and enhancements are properly version-controlled and maintained throughout the project lifecycle.
• Participate in release planning, production deployment preparation and post-release validation activities.
• Leverage AI-enabled productivity tools to improve requirement documentation, analysis and quality assurance processes.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Business, Information Systems, Computer Science, Engineering or related discipline.
• 2-4 years of Business Analysis experience in Banking, Financial Services or Technology projects.
• Basic understanding of Corporate Internet Banking, Digital Banking, Payments or Financial Services platforms.
• Experience gathering and documenting business requirements, user stories, process flows and functional specifications.
• Familiarity with Agile delivery methodologies including Scrum and Kanban.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
