Job summary

SINGAPORE TELECOMMUNICATIONS LIMITED is seeking an Associate Director - Platform Engineering to lead the engineering function responsible for designing, developing, and operating a secure, scalable platform that supports AI workloads in a modern, containerised environment.

You will provide technical and people leadership across multiple teams, establish engineering standards, and ensure on-time delivery of enterprise platform capabilities through close collaboration with Product, Architecture,

Qualifications

• Significant software engineering and technical leadership experience in enterprise environments.
• Proven ability to lead multiple engineering teams or large platform initiatives.
• Strong Java, Spring Boot, Kubernetes and Kafka expertise.
• Knowledge of cloud-native architectures and private clouds.
• Experience with SDLC, DevOps, release management and production support.
• Excellent leadership, stakeholder management and communication skills.
• Ability to balance strategic direction with hands-on mentoring.

Responsibilities

• Lead and develop multiple engineering teams through team leads, providing guidance and performance oversight.
• Define and drive engineering strategy, technical direction and platform architecture.
• Oversee design, development, deployment, and support of enterprise platform services.
• Ensure secure, scalable, reliable and operable platform solutions.
• Improve software engineering practices including CI/CD, incident management and release management.
• Collaborate with Product, Architecture, Security, DevOps, and Ops teams to deliver capabilities.
• Review designs and implementations for architectural consistency and quality.
• Monitor progress, manage risks and ensure timely delivery.
• Support production operations for platform stability and performance.
• Mentor engineering leaders and build capability.
