is hiring an associate engineer to join the failure analysis team, performing Transmission Electron Microscopy sample preparation to support semiconductor failure analysis and characterization activities, including night‑shift operations. You will work on pre‑FIB sample prep, wafer inspection, delayering and TEM imaging readiness, coordinating with engineers across shifts, and adhering to safety and quality standards.

Qualifications

• Diploma in Electrical/Elect Electronics/Mechatronics/Microelectronics Engineering.
• Hands-on experience with TEM sample preparation using Focused Ion Beam (FIB) microscope preferred.
• Able to work 12-hr night shift independently.
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to troubleshoot under time pressure.

Responsibilities

• Conduct pre-FIB sample preparation, including wafer cleaving and optical inspection.
• Perform sample coating, delayering using RIE/polishing, and lamella preparation for TEM analysis.
• Operate FIB systems for milling, thinning, and lamella preparation for TEM imaging.
• Ensure samples meet quality, cleanliness, and thickness requirements for TEM imaging.
• Support urgent requests from fabrication and failure analysis teams with urgency and ownership.
• Communicate effectively across shifts for smooth handover and continuity.
• Follow lab safety SOPs and quality standards; participate in continuous improvement activities.

Summary

We are hiring an associate engineer to be part of the failure analysis team to perform Transmission Electron Microscopy (TEM) sample preparation to support semiconductor failure analysis and characterization activities and able work in the night‑shift operations.

Job Responsibilities and descriptions

Conduct pre‑FIB sample preparation, including but not limited to:

• Wafer cleaving
• Optical microscope inspection and defect navigation
• Sample coating
• Sample delayering using RIE/polishing
• Operate Focused Ion Beam (FIB) systems to perform precision milling, thinning, and lamella preparation for TEM analysis.
• Ensure samples meet quality, cleanliness, and thickness requirements to enable high‑quality TEM imaging.
• Support urgent and critical requests from fabrication and failure analysis teams, demonstrating a strong sense of urgency and ownership.
• Communicate effectively with engineers, peers, and shift counterparts to ensure smooth handover and continuity across shifts.
• Follow laboratory safety procedures, SOPs, and quality standards at all times.
• Actively participate in continuous improvement activities related to TEM sample preparation and night‑shift efficiency.

Required Qualifications

• Diploma in courses relevant to Electrical/ Electronics/ Mechatronics and Microelectronics Engineering
• Hands‑on experience and knowledge in TEM sample preparation using Focused Ion beam microscope is preferred.
• A committed and self‑disciplined individual who can work 12-hr night shift independently.
• Strong problem‑solving skills, with the ability to troubleshoot sample preparation challenges under time pressure.
