Job summary

Great Eastern is seeking a seasoned Data & AI governance professional to design, develop and maintain governance artefacts that align with regulatory requirements and strategic objectives across the Group.

You will refine governance, drive data literacy, and enforce PM practices while supporting subsidiaries to maintain consistency with Group standards. A degree plus extensive experience in data/AI governance and project management in financial services is required.

Qualifications

  • Degree from a recognized tertiary institution with at least 8 years of experience in data/AI governance.
  • Minimum 3 years hands-on governance, PM, audit or compliance in insurance/financial services.
  • Detail oriented, analytical with strong problem solving and organizational skills.
  • Strong understanding of project management principles, including risk and gate reviews.
  • Experience with IT service management is a plus; PMP certification is advantageous.
  • Experience with data architectures, Hadoop, cloud, data warehouse, AI/ML landscape.

Job description

The role is part of Group Data Management & Governance, to operationalise data and AI initiatives and support data & AI governance across the Group.

Responsibilities and Qualifications
  • Design, develop and maintain data and AI governance, and data management artefacts (e.g. framework, policies, standards and guidelines) to ensure relevancy and up-to-date to meet the organization’s strategic objectives and business needs, as well as be aligned to regulatory requirements.
  • Support the department’s communication strategy, programs and initiatives to raise the overall data literacy, data control and data management obligations across the Group to enable intelligent workforce.
  • Refine and operationalize the various aspects of data & AI governance to effect proper ownership and accountabilities across the Group.
  • Enforces Group Data & AI project management practices and processes.
  • Perform oversight and support country and subsidiaries to ensure alignment of governance practices, data management obligations and standards.
  • Degree from recognized tertiary institution with at least 8 years of working experience where at least 3 years of hands‑on experience in data and/or AI governance, project management, audit or compliance in insurance or financial services industry.
  • Detail oriented and analytical, with good problem solving, project management and organizational skills.
  • Good understanding of the principles of project management, e.g. project risk management, project control gates etc.
  • Strong change management skills and/or experience in organization transformation programs.
  • Experience in operationalizing processes an added advantage.
  • Experience in IT Service Management an added advantage.
  • PMP Certification an added advantage.
  • Exposure and understanding on data, architecture diagrams and up-to-date on data and technology landscape (e.g. Hadoop, cloud, data warehouse, AI and ML)
  • Good team spirit, stakeholder management and interpersonal skills.
