Job summary

Pearl Marine Logistics PTE. LTD. in Singapore seeks an experienced Senior Marine Engineer to oversee vessel maintenance, repairs, and regulatory compliance.

You will direct planned tasks, supervise ship staff, and liaise with class surveyors while reporting to the Technical Manager. Expect global travel to supervise repairs and ensure safety standards are met. The role requires a marine engineering degree and at least 3 years seagoing experience, with strong leadership and communication skills

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Marine Engineering, Naval Architecture, or related field.
• Minimum 3 years seagoing experience as a senior officer, preferably with command.
• Strong knowledge of vessel systems, maintenance practices, and class requirements.
• Thorough knowledge of international maritime regulations (SOLAS, MARPOL, STCW, ISM Code).

Responsibilities

• Execute repair, maintenance, and servicing activities on vessels as directed by the Technical Manager.
• Arrange and supervise planned maintenance tasks performed by ship's staff, providing guidance and support.
• Inspect vessel machinery spaces to assess cleanliness and maintenance progress.
• Conduct damage surveys, prepare cost estimates, and complete relevant reports and documentation.
• Oversee dry-docking activities, ensuring all technical matters are addressed promptly and efficiently.
• Liaise with class surveyors for vessel surveys and ensure compliance with class requirements.
• Report survey findings and recommendations to the Technical Manager.
• Maintain safety equipment onboard vessels to meet legislative requirements and company standards.
• Advise the Master and Chief Engineer on planned maintenance activities.
• Collect and report data on vessel performance, including speed, fuel consumption, and spare parts usage.
• Travel to worldwide ports to supervise repairs and restoration of vessels and equipment.
• Inspect vessels in dry-dock, recording hull and tank steel work and coating condition.
• Advise the Technical Manager on hull steel repairs and implement their instructions.
• Prepare and monitor budgets for assigned areas of expenditure, reporting variances to the Technical Manager.
• Provide relevant information to the Asst. Technical Manager on sea-going personnel performance and needs.
• Ensure prompt dispatch of service instructions from the ship to relevant office departments or agents.
• Refer cargo-related matters requiring decisions to the operations director.
• Perform a comprehensive inspection of vessels and report findings to the Technical Manager.
