Job summary

STAR CAREER CONSULTING PTE LTD is seeking an experienced Assistant System Manager to oversee and enhance IT infrastructure for clients in the Defence sector in Singapore.

You will collaborate with stakeholders and partners to rollout patches, manage upgrades, and ensure governance, compliance, and cyber resilience in a high-security environment.

Qualifications

• Degree in IT or related field with at least 5 years of working experience in managing IT infrastructure projects in diverse, complex, large-scale environments.
• Hands-on experience with Windows Server OS and Linux OS in virtual environments.
• Experience with vulnerability management tools (e.g., Nessus) and security best practices.

Responsibilities

• Provide on-site end-to-end Integrated Systems Management Services support to the Authority.
• Manage stakeholders in the Authority's meetings and drive governance across systems and processes.
• Ensure systems meet KPI/SLA and maintain asset inventory of hardware, software, and network equipment.
• Review policy changes with Authority and prepare/maintain Project Security Management Plan.
• Conduct security reviews, track vulnerabilities, and patch security gaps to improve cyber resiliency.
• Support publication management, spare review, and competency management within Integrated Logistics Support.
• Drive digital transformation in operational efficiency, governance, and cyber security for the Systems.

Job description

We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Assistant System Manager to join our innovative team. In this critical role, you will oversee and enhance the IT infrastructure for our customers in the Defence sector, ensuring seamless operations and top-notch performance. You will work closely with the systems stakeholders and technology partners to rollout system patches, manage system upgrades, ensuring governance and compliance to stipulated policies and standards.

Be Part of Our Success

• Provide on-site end-to-end Integrated Systems Management Services support to the Authority
• Manage various stakeholders in the Authority's appointed meetings
• Manage and ensure that the system(s) meet the corresponding system categories of KPI or SLA
• Ensure adequate governance (i.e. system and process controls) are in place to maintain oversight of compliance status and ensure the Systems adhere to applicable standards, policies, directives and guidelines
• Responsible for compliance declaration. Prepare and support independent audit exercise
• Work with Authority to review policy change
• Prepare and maintain Project Security Management Plan. Conduct security review, constantly track, mitigate and patch security vulnerabilities to eliminate or minimise risk exposure and improve the cyber resiliency of the Systems
• Ensure asset inventory (comprising hardware, software, network equipment, etc.) are maintained and updated regularly for the Systems
• Investigate and resolve issues pertaining to Systems or backbone infrastructure
• Support the Integrated Logistics Support such as publication management, spare review management and competency management
• Maintain oversight and review the Obsolescence Management plan for all Systems
• Drive digital transformation in areas of Operational efficiency, Governance & Compliance and Cyber Security
• Improve customer experience and ensure good customer satisfaction survey outcomes
• Manage Tech Refresh for Systems

Qualities We Value

Degree in IT or a related subject with at least 5 years of working experience in managing IT infrastructure projects in diverse, complex, large-scale environments

• Good technical knowledge in system / network diagnosis and troubleshooting
• Knowledge and hands-on experience in supporting transmission network infrastructure
• Working experience with the following operating system and infrastructure software will be an advantage:
• Windows Server OS, Linux OS in a virtual environment
• Vulnerability Management (e.g. Nessus)
• Proven analytical and problem-solving abilities with In-depth knowledge of escalation procedures, incident management, and other disciplines related to service delivery
• Highly self-motivated and directed, with keen attention to detail
• Able to effectively prioritize tasks in a high-pressure environment
• Good interpersonal skills. Experience working in a team-oriented, collaborative environment
• Strong customer service orientation with exceptional customer-facing skills
• Strong vendor management skills with experience in dealing with third party-provided services, vendors, OEM and principals
